The Backup Command is not working under Tools or Quit

Solution: We have received reports that the Backup command may not be functioning at times under version 2.1.  If you encounter this problem do the following:

Go to the FSPC File Download Library area and download the file Backup.zip.  Copy that file to your FSPC 2.1 directory.  At the dos prompt C:/FSPC2> enter pkunzip backup.zip.  The following files will unzip.

Backup.bat   Backup.bat  pkzip.exe.

PKzip will ask if it should overwrite the PKzip.exe file already in existence.  Enter Y for yes.  With this process completed, anytime you use FSPC and have exited the system.  At the FSPC2> directory prompt, either enter backup or backup depending on whether you typically backup your files to your floppy A drive or B drive.  This process will create the correct KNBACK.ZIP file on your floppy disk.  You should be able to use Restore command to restore the files on this backup, if necessary.

At times, the Member Group and Record Count that appears in the lower left hand corner of the main screen appears jumbled

Solution:  Many of our users were still experiencing problems using their inkjet and laser printers with FSPC.  Often a print job would stop mid-way through printing or an error message would appear and printing would stop.   One of the main ways to correct this problem is to enter the command

MODE LPT1,,p at any DOS prompt before entering FSPC and attempting to print.  In order to assure that this is done we have added the command to FSPC.  Anytime the system starts or temporarily exits to DOS and restarts (like on a Reindex for example), this command will be invoked.  When this command is invoked, DOS responds with the following messages:  LPT1 not rerouted. Resident portion of MODE loaded. Infinite retries on parallel printer time out. Sometimes this return message will remain on the main screen when the system starts and jumbles the member group and record count information.  You may go to Members, Select Member Group and pick All Records to restore the Member Group and Record Count to a readable format, or you can ignore the problem and it will correct itself after using the system and refreshing the main screen.

When a printer is selected from the available printer list, it does not update the selected printer field

Solution:  The selected printer is actually updated it just does not display as changed.  OK and close the screen and re-enter the Printer Setup screen and you will see the new printer you highlighted before clicking ok is now the Selected printer.

The word "anniversary" is misspelled in a report.

Solution:  Live with the misspelled word or at the Print Reports and Labels screen print the report to a file. Read the file either into DOS editor, wordpad, or a word processing package and correct the misspelling and print the report from those applications.
