USER DEFINED FIELDS

The FSPC program allows the user to define fields to store member information that is not included on the regular screens. The User Defined Fields section is found on the Miscellaneous screen of the Member Information window (go to the Edit menu, choose Members, and click on the Miscellaneous tab.)

On this screen, you can enter two (2) User Defined Dates, two (2) User Defined Decimals (numeric), and eight (2) User Defined Characters (Text).

To give your own title to one of these fields, click on the Setup menu and select User Defined Fields. In this window you can enter the titles for the User Defined Field that you want to use by typing them in the appropriate area.

The User Defined Fields can be used in conjunction with queries to show only those members that belong to a certain group. For example, you can set the members that belong to the Living Rosary in User Defined Field 1. If the member is part of the Living Rosary group, place a Y in that field. If they are not, place an N.

Now, if you go to set up a query, Field 1 would be UD_Field 1, the operator would be Equal to, and the value would be Y. This will select only those members that are part of the Living Rosary team. (See Queries help-sheet for more information on creating a query.)
